These portraits are developed with special consideration of the need of the generation at the same time inheriting the basic techniques of painting followed over the years. There are several popular art forms that can be considered under the modern art portraits. Some of these are as follows:-
• Traditional Oil Portraits: In an attempt to keep the cost of oil portraits down, here the portraits are prepared from ordinary photographs so that people do not necessarily have to arrange sittings with the artists.
• Graphic Style: These offer a very funky look perfect for people who love modern interiors. Bigger the canvas and bolder the statement, greater is the overall impact. This style is very similar to the animation style.
• Graffiti Style: This is an art form as old as the art itself. Graffiti style is increasingly being drawn into the mainstream art.
• Andy Warhol Portraits: An art form entailed by 50 years of wholesome work, the classic Andy Warhol portraits still look fresh and continue to remain the definitive images of the Pop Art movement.
• Black n Color Portraits: These extremely flattering portraits are produced by reducing the image to a simple “color/no color” effect.
• Photo Mosaic Portrait: The most interesting fact about these portraits is that these are created from one’s own photo collection. They are made up of hundreds of little photos, arranged to look from a distance like a single image.
• Silhouette Portrait: These portraits bring an effective modern twist to an age old style harking back to their heyday in the 19th century.
• Screenprint Style: This fantastic style is derived from the simply colored screenprints. A great option for people who love Pop Art, the greatest advantage of this style is that the artist doesn’t necessarily need a fantastic picture to start with. An ordinary picture works perfectly well.
• Airbrush Style Portrait: A reminiscent of the 1980’s posters, this style offers a hyper real airbrushed look that is extremely flattering.
• Simple Illustration Style: This is the ultimate style for those who love minimalist cool. These portraits distil the face down to the simplest of lines and then soothing flat colors are used to fill the canvas.
